NBA on TNT is a 360 VR experience
where fans can experience NBA games in VR. The experience allows users to
choose between 5 to 6 cameras that are positioned strategically around the
venue, providing a more immersive experience than traditional broadcast.
The 360 content is captured in
Intel True View technology.

EXPERIENCE CONCEPTING
I led a series of internal creative meetings and brainstorms with key stakeholders to align on the vision.
The concept that we arrived at with Turner was to recreate the physical “Inside the NBA” broadcast set in VR.
The experience was divided into two distinct scenes, "Home" and "Consumption." Each scene would have its own unique destinations and content.
I went out to the physical studio to gather references of the environment as well as broadcast assets for us to repurpose in the VR application.
I partnered with Intel product and engineering on a series of quick usability tests of the concept.
I further refined the experience based on feedback from our users.
UX DOCUMENTATION
After defining concept and direction of the experience, I created initial mockups, UX/UI user
flows and creative briefs for both initial prototypes, as well as the final consumer product.
I partnered with the product manager to visualize
features in the PRD.
I partnered with engineering and product to create prototypes of the experience.

I created initial 3D elements for the NBA home environment. This model was used for all prototypes, user tests, and final renders.
I created the Unity scenes and did initial asset integration for prototypes. I
created final production 3D lighting and
rendering. I developed the 3D pipeline that was used in production. I
managed internal artists on final production 2D and 3D assets. I
provided art
direction to internal designers as well as 3rd party vendors on project.

NBA AR PROTOTYPE (3D ASSETS)
In
addition to the NBA 360 VR product, I was also involved in our NBA AR prototype
efforts with 3rd party vendors. The
primary prototype was a NBA table-top AR experience for
the Magic Leap headset.
